Sotham Engineering Services Ltd are pleased to be working in close conjunction with the main contractor Kier and LSI Architects in producing a new University Technical College for Norwich.

The college will accommodate around 700 students from the age of 14 to 19 years when in full swing. The college will be only one of a handful across the country which will specialise in technical studies, offering full time course combing practical, technical and academic studies.  In collaboration with local business the college aims to provide students, not only skills and qualifications, but opportunities to secure work in the engineering and energy sectors.

We have adopted where possible the M&E systems left from the previous occupier of the building to facilitate an economical solution for the new owners.  From here we have provided a complete design and build solution to all ventilation, mechanical pipe and electrical services to the building including a 250m2 photo voltaic system from our in-house renewable energy company.

The project has an M&E value in excess of £1m and the building is due for completion July in readiness for its opening in September 2014.
